:-( I suppose this screws up several hundred pics :-( And. you did point out something i never thought of.I checker the 4-way controller and it was set at "Radiant" which I must have done accidentally during one of my pre dawn shoots this last week. When I transfer the files into Lightroom they end up PEF. On the screen on the K3 for image capture settings it is set at Raw DNG. I could use some of that hands on stuff! -) On all the shoots I go on all the Nikon and Cannon and Sony owners swap info and tips. What I'd really like is to meet in the flesh other Pentax owners. So, I think my best bet is to erase everything and reload my 32GB cards. another parameter to this problem is that I have added a 4 terabyte external drive for all my pics as backup and today I transferred a bunch of DNG files onto the new hard drive and they ended up PEF files and when I open them in lightroom they look like crap. I've been getting DNG's from the camera for the last three years but. dng's from the camera? My question is: Are you sure?Hi Mark, It sounds though, that you believe you're getting. But the simpler solution would be to output. dng raw files, so you should be able to work with them. pef raw files contain all the same information as the. I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I'm not aware of Lightroom having that capability. You can change your camera's settings to output. I do not believe Lightroom has the capability to convert from. Maybe I need to dump everything off my computer and start over. Reset to "Bright" or "Natural" or "Vibrant", whatever suits you.Paul, What does it show? If it is something like "Muted" or "Bleach Bypass", it could explain what you are getting. I suggest you go to the image finishing screen using the button at 3 o'clock on the 4-way controller. It sounds like you have inadvertently changed some settings. Having said all this, there is no reason a PEF should be washed out. Go to menu "Camera 1 > Image Capture Settings" and change the last item in the submenu to DNG. One of the items should show either "RAW DNG" or "RAW+ DNG" or "JPEG", Which is it? If it just says "RAW" or "RAW+", you are saving as PEF. I suggest you push the Info button on the back of your K3. Reset to "Bright" or "Natural" or "Vibrant", whatever suits you. I've been signing up for photo shoots in three states for four years and have never met another Pentax shooter so learning from another Mac Pentax photographer hasn't been possible. Not possible Bob. Paul Minnesota and would gladly drive a couple hundred miles and pay for hands on training. What I want is to PAY real money to someone to sit down with me, my computer, lightroom and my pictures and take me through using all this technology the correct way. It is VERY apparent as the color nearly washes out and they look flat. Been dong this for a couple years but now, all of a sudden my DNG files are converted to PEF files. My K3 DNG files are changed to PEF files when I dump them into Lightroom 6 on my Mac.
